Episode 17: Weird Astrology with Maighdlin Kelly!

The first Astrology reader SJ ever hired was their friend Maighdlin Kelly. From a single hour spent with them, SJ realized they were the best damn astrologer they know, and was thrilled when they agreed to come on Two Witches, which Maighdlin has called "The Hellier of Podcasts." We told you it was contagious. From the very beginning, the friendship between SJ and Maighdlin seemed to be tinged with some serious synchronicities, originating around Hellier, of course. Sara screamed at the TV when Maighdlin appeared in the second season (S2: Episode 8) of Hellier to work on some Weird Astrology for the Newkirks (The Astrology of Hellier) and their crew at Planet Weird. Maighdlin also shares with us how Goblin Madness unfolded for them (Hint: it's because of Karl Pfeiffer)! We knew when we wanted to look for anything significant in the astrological charts of Mother Joseph and Emilie Gamelin (especially compared to Andrea and SJ's charts) that Weird Astrology was again the only person to hire. We definitely don't regret our decision, and our lucky listeners won't either!

Getting Weird with Some Nun Astrology.

Some of the things Maighdlin uncovered about the astrological charts of our two favorite Canadian nuns were nothing other than uncanny to learn about. We knew that Mother Joseph definitely reflected the stereotypical firey personality of her Aries sun sign, but what is really Weird about her Astrology (see what we did there?) is that MoJo is what we could call an ULTIMATE ARIES MEGALORD. Just have a look for yourself. Both Andrea and Emilie Gamelin were born on February 19th (although many years apart). When you dig deeper into Astrology than just the usual generic "12 Signs Newspaper Horoscopes" that we've all seen, things start to get really interesting. Emilie's astrological chart also is an illuminating look into her life and personality.

Turns out that Mother Joseph's chart is full of a whole lot of Aries, which explains a lot about our favorite bossy nun. Oh and "every planet is hauling ass." HA!

When you examine MoJo and Emilie's astrological charts, it makes sense why these women were such good friends and tended to balance each other out... just like the Two Witches at the center of this Podcast.

Emilie's less intense chart reflects her gentle Pisces nature but isn't without hints of her life's continual challenges.

The "Hellier of Podcasts" Isn't Here for Your Crap, Bro.

This episode we also digress about an experience SJ had recently with a male employee at her favorite local Metaphysical shop. He felt the need to "Mansplain," trying to warn her off of a set of Lenormand cards she was eyeing for research, checking to make sure they could "understand the symbolism in case she wasn't a big Tarot student." (No, really, he actually said that to SJ and survived it!) To this utter line of crap, we would like to remind all consumers of Paranormal content that you don't need a PhD to get into divination or try any other weird stuff, and we are all sick of hearing hot takes like this (typically from white men). Go watch some Travel Channel reruns and leave the rest of us alone, okay?
