Episode 18: ASR With Stephanie Quick!

When what we lovingly call "the nun stuff" started to get really weird for SJ, one of the first people that reached out to them was our friend Stephanie Quick, who has been described as "William S. Burroughs meets Mary Poppins," which we think is just perfect. I mean, she worked rituals with Allen Fucking Greenfield - she doesn't play around when it comes to magic... or fashion.
Just as brilliant on her knowledge of the weird as her fellow Master of Cool and Dr. of Kookonomy AP Strange, she turned Sara onto a newer paranormal theory called Archetypal Synchronistic Resonance that really got our attention. We're going to get into what that is all about what what it could explain about the Synchronicities SJ and Andrea are experiencing around Mother Joseph and Emilie Gamelin. We also will get into some of the other esoteric topics that Stephanie is really interested in, and tell you more about her life and work!
Author and Esoteric Researcher Stephanie Quick is a wealth of information and a delight to have in your life!

"William S. Burroughs Meets Mary Poppins."

Part of what we call"Team Brick," Stephanie's brick's arrival in January 2021 seemed to bring an instant nod of recognition from Mother Joseph. The brick's arrival coincided with something else she needed for some time to finally finish one of her amazing and unique self-crafted garments. Stephanie's a talented seamstress too - just like our friend Mother Joseph was! We imagine MoJo probably appreciated the fine construction and style of Stephanie's hand-stitched attire, and perhaps wanted to connect with an Archetypal Synchronistic Reasonance that Stephanie would recognize, herself being a creator of fine clothing.
Stephanie's Hidden brick.
Mother Joseph was nearly as gifted with embroidery as she was woodworking. She hand embroidered vestments for many people including her friend Bishop Edward O'Dea's coronation a few years before his death.
"I made up this Frock Coat by Folkwear Patterns a few years ago in stretch denim. I love it more over the years for its simple yet romantic silhouette and perfectly proportioned shawl collar. It’s as easy to throw on as a classic jean jacket, yet more dashing." SO GOOD.

Are We Just Haunting Ourselves? Maybe!

We'll break down what Archetypal Synchronistic Resonance is and how we have experienced it around Synchronicity events linked to this Hidden brick story. Basically, one line from a series of videos breaking down the theory (see below) sums up why this idea seems like a more likely explanation for the nun weirdness we are living than other paranormal theories like reincarnation seem to: "I HAVE NO MEMORIES, ONLY VISCERAL REACTIONS." - Dr. Brendan Engen. For more about ARS, check out this excellent three part video series (ONE, TWO and THREE) with Jeffrey Mishlove Ph. D and Brendan C. Engen, Psy. D discussing their paper “Archetypal Synchronistic Resonance: A New Theory of Paranormal Experience.”
Stephanie kindly promoted Episode 14 of Two Witches Podcast on her social media with this image, which we think is the greatest advertisement ever.

Another brilliant theory Stephanie brought to our awareness was that of her friend and colleague Eric Wargo - that Synchronicities are part of a closed system of "Time Loops," the title of Wargo's 2018 book on the phenomenon. Stephanie's excellent blog entry "Eric Wargo: Precognition, Meaning, and Pomegranates" is a great overview of Wargo's theory and recaps when she interviewed Wargo for Project Archivist. If you're interested in Synchronicity, we also recommend her excellent video from 2019 called "Synchronicity and Premonition: Theories and Stories."
